Numbers

The options in the first section refer to the actual numbers that will be called by the host or hostess. There are a few bets you can place here:

• Bet on The One: Pick a number you think will or won’t show. Spoiler: Betting against the odds scores you a bigger payout!
• Play the Field: Bet on 2, 3, or 4 numbers. More numbers, bigger rewards!
• Lucky or Unlucky 7: Choose seven numbers you think won’t appear. We had a blast, hoping our picks would stay hidden!
• Customize Your 7: Pick seven numbers and guess how many will show up. More matches, more winnings!

OUR BET: We decided to start quite conservatively, betting R40 that seven specific numbers wouldn’t show up. We also wagered another R40, hoping to nail three out of those seven numbers. The result? Our seven ‘no-show’ numbers came through, winning us R140! The second bet? Well, not so lucky there.

Black/yellow balls totals

Here you can bet if the sum of the yellow or the black balls will be more or less than 73.50. There is a 50% chance in all these bets, so the payout is x1.90 if you win.

OUR BET: We bet R60 on the black balls, adding up to more than 73.50, and sadly we lost that one.

Total sum

For this betting option, you can choose whether the total sum of all balls will be more or less of certain amounts.

OUR BET: We bet R100, that the total amount of the seven balls would be less than 125.50. Struck it lucky again. The payout was x4.60, landing us R460!

Total count

Here you have the most choices. You have to guess the number of black and yellow balls that will come out, if any. For example, will one, two, three, four, five, six, or seven yellow balls come out? Or none at all? The same applies to black balls. You can also bet if 1 or 2 balls of the same colour will come out, or 1, 2 or 3 balls. 

OUR BET: We bet R100 that 3 yellow balls would be in the lucky numbers after discussing the results of the previous five draws and…unlucky this time!! The payout was x3, so we could have made R300.

Odd/even

Odd/even betting may seem straightforward, but there’s more to it than you’d think! You’re not just tied to betting on the total points or goals. Want to mix it up? You can bet on the first or last ball being odd or even, or even go for a combo and predict the first two balls. For instance, will they be one odd and one even? The options keep the game intriguing!

OUR BET: We bet R60 that the first ball would be odd and the second even. We couldn’t believe our luck when first there was 11 and then 34! The payout in this bet is x3.70, so we scored R222!

Black/yellow

Finally, you can bet on the colour of the first and last ball. You can also guess if there will be more yellow than black balls, or if the first 2 balls will be of the same or different colour. 

OUR BET: We bet our last R80 on the first two balls having the same colour. Payout is just x1.95, but it is a fairly safe bet. The two first balls were unfortunately different, so we lost out on a potential R156 more.

In total, I won a total of R822 won by betting R500, I was pretty stoked! But to be totally transparent, some of our other colleagues were not so lucky and lost most if not all their cash.
