GrandWest Casino to Host 2019 Cape Town Motor Show

grandwest-casino-to-host-2019-cape-town-motor-showThe Mother City’s favorite land-based casino, GrandWest Casino will be hosting this year’s Cape Town Motor Show. On March 2nd and 3rd, some 25,000 people are expected to descend on the casino and view one of the city’s biggest attractions. The event will showcase cards, bikes, drift rides, Driftkhana racing, 4 x 4 tracks and a StanceWars Show and Shine competition – among other exciting happenings.


According to the Marketing Director for CTMS, Garth Rhoda the annual show caters for “the car collector, the petrol head, the bike nut, the speed demon and your general follower of all things with wheels.”

He said that the Cape Town Motor Show was a full motoring experience for the entire family.

“We want to create a show that puts Africa on the map of world motoring events,” he said. “And in three years I believe we’ve come a long way to achieving that.”

A number of top manufacturers have committed their support to the show, including BMW, Suzuki, Mazda, Lindenberg Racing and others.

Sun International, operator of GrandWest Casino in Cape Town also expressed its delight in having the honor of hosting the show.

“The Cape Town Motor Show has grown exponentially over the last three years,” said the divisional director of Sun International, Mervyn Naidoo. “Thanks to its success and popularity among Capetonians, this show has become one of the anchor events on GrandWest’s annual entertainment calendar. Visitors to the show can combine their visit with round-the-clock entertainment at GrandWest Casino. The casino is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, and offers smoking and non-smoking gaming facilities. GrandWest boasts over 2500 slot machines and 80 premium table games. There is also an excellent selection of bars, restaurants and activities near the casino floor.
