Golden age of the railroad was a simple time without mobile phones and all the tech gadgets and implements that have only complicated things even though they were initially designed to facilitate our everyday life. Honouring the times past and simple, here comes a slot game as simple and straightforward as it gets. Pragmatic Play has decided to step outside of their usual pattern to produce a 3-reel, 3-row, and 3-payline slot game called Gold Train. This super simple slot game is an exciting project, however, one that offers a progressive bonus feature during which players will jump on the wagons with cash prizes for some lucrative winnings.

How to Play

There isn’t a single feature which would stand out on the first glance at the Pragmatic Play’s Gold Train slot. Simply done graphics representing a classic Las Vegas-style slot machine are complemented by three – single, double and treble – railway tracks-styled bars. These low-value symbols are joined by a bell, red and green flags, the conductor’s cap and the 777 symbol which are high-valued icons.

Gold Train slot pays for combinations of matching symbols lined up from left to right. Given the fact there are only three reels in this game, you need all three symbols inside a payline when it comes to low-paying symbols, whereas the high-valued ones will also reward you with wins when you notch them in pairs.

Pragmatic Play’s latest slot release can be accessed from as little as R0.1 as the lowest coin value, up to R5 which makes it quite an affordable slot game.

Special Features

Apart from all of the symbols we mentioned above, there are two more symbols that actually are arguably the most important ones in the game. A jade round symbol with the word Wild written on it is, obviously, a Wild. It is worth 4,000 coins and replaces for all other symbols bar the Free Spins Scatter.

You need three or more Scatters anywhere on the reels to be rewarded with 5 free spins, which are the only bonus round in this game. Every time you get additional three Scatters during the free spins round will grant you additional three complimentary turns. At the beginning of each Free Spins Round, players will be presented with a choice. You have to select one of the five options to go by, which then determines the amount of the multiplier that will be applied during the bonus round.

Wild symbol is worth 1x, the Monkey King applies the 2x multiplier whereas other three character all push the multiplier value up by one. The bearded gentleman is the top multiplier with 5x on offer. What is more, each option available has a different reel set with your chosen symbol becoming stacked, which only enhances your overall winning potential.

Gameplays do not come simpler than the one you have in Pragmatic Play’s Gold Train slot. It’s a classic and it will stir the memories of the old casino days when all you had were three reels on a machine to benefit from. Pragmatic Play went back to the roots, but still decided to put an extra twist to it with their unique progressive bonus feature which will see you collect Upgrade symbols during base game in order to have as many cash wagons as you can, carrying different prizes to be added to your bankroll. We must admit that we are not too big of the fans of this type of a video slot, but old school player will undoubtedly enjoy it. Our rating: 70/100
