Wild Coast Sun Appoints New Marketing Manager Sun International’s Wild Coast Sun Resort in the Eastern Cape has appointed a new marketing manager.

Cynthia Nene, a University of KwaZulu-Natal graduate, is no stranger to South Africa’s iconic casino and hospitality group.

Since joining Sun International in 2006, Nene has worked as Graduate Manager Trainer, MVG Coordinator, Database Marketing Manager and Customer Relations Manager.

Her biggest promotion, however, came recently when she took over as marketing manager for the Wild Coast Sun.

Sun International’s Only Beachfront Resort

When interviewed by iol.co.za, Cynthia Nene said that she was very excited to become part of the Wild Coast Sun family.

“After all, the resort is all about family and the ultimate family destination,” she said.

I am ready to rise to the challenges that come with marketing a big resort such as the Wild Coast Sun but when the property, Sun International’s only beachfront resort – is so breathtakingly beautiful, it makes things that much easier,” added Nene.

According to Nene, the Wild Coast Sun is a “hidden gem” and one of her goals is to market it to South Africans, especially now when local tourism has taken such an enormous blow due to the spread of the virus.

South Africans are being encouraged to explore their own country and the Wild Coast will not disappoint. For many who are not able to travel abroad like they used to – the Wild Coast Sun is a Mauritius right here, on our own soil,” she said.

Empowering the Local Community

In addition, Nene pointed out how much Sun International, and especially the Wild Coast Sun, does to help the local community.

She said that plans to be at the forefront of Social Economic Development projects to help better, empower and improve the lives of the communities in which the casino operates.

Filling Big Shoes

Cynthia Nene will be taking over her new position from the popular Public Relations and Promotions Manager of the Wild Coast Sun for the past 35 years, Sandi Burger.

Burger was with the casino from nearly the very beginning since the resort is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Sandi Burger, who worked under five general managers, retired last month.
